Meet Kristine Fischer

Kristine Fischer is 26 years old and a native of Nebraska.  She is a proud graduate of Polestar Pilates Education teaching training program.  She graduated from Bellevue University with a bachelor’s degree in business management and for the last 4 years, was employed by Scheels Sporting Goods in the hunting and fishing department.  Her passion and enthusiasm for the outdoors and healthy lifestyle persuaded her to change her career path.  Having had firsthand experience of using pilates for rehabilitation of lower back pain from a car accident last year, Kristine is a firm believer in pilates and its benefits.

“The biggest benefit in my eyes would be personal awareness–awareness of how one sits or stands or how one moves and being able to related those habits to the aches and pains and injuries from the past,” Kristine says.

For example, she says, pilates can help make you aware of that chronic tweak in the neck you get from sitting at the computer all day with rounded shoulders and a phone cradled between the ear and shoulder.  She sees clients with injuries or weakness of the postural muscles, as a result of work, lifestyle, or not exercising the right way.  “People sit slouched at their computers all day, then go to the gym and work their extremities,” Kristine says, “they don’t use their core muscles.”

Think of a tree, she continues.  Does it have all its strength in its limbs? No.  The tree is only as strong as its trunk and roots.  Without a strong trunk, the tree would topple over.

Kristine is excited to join Lincoln Pilates Method, Lincoln’s original premier Studio.  She believes in helping people of all ages and fitness levels develop a good foundation and a strong trunk or core in order for the body to be balanced, less injury-prone and susceptible to the pitfalls of their occupation or chose form of exercise.
